Things got very testy in Salt Lake City in Friday night's matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz.

It all started when Minnesota's starting point guard in Jeff Teague bodychecked his counterpart in Ricky Rubio near the sideline, sending the latter crashing toward the crowd at courtside.

Tension escalated and players got involved, hotheads and calm individuals alike, where it even resulted in a double technical foul being whistled on Jazz small forward Jae Crowder and Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau.

This prompted All-Star Jimmy Butler — who's not with his teammates as he's in the initial stages of his recovery from a serious injury — to fire a shot directed at Crowder on Twitter.

“Jae get away from my coach. You don’t want no smoke either.”

Of course, being a no-nonsense tough guy himself, Crowder wasn't going to let the night slip by without addressing Butler's shade — in all caps.

“I DONT TWITTER BEEF ILL LEAVE THAT TO U.. BUT U GOT MY PHONE NUMBER AND KNOW MY HOME ADDRESS..!! THE REST CAN BE HISTORY.”

The Jazz came away victorious on the night to the tune of 116-108. Crowder had a solid game for himself with 15 points, three rebounds, and a trifecta of long-distance makes. Meanwhile, Butler had a few tweets to fill up his stat sheet.

The Jazz continue to creep their way up in hopes of snatching away one of the final playoff tickets in the ever-so-tough Western Conference. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, saw their grip at the third spot loosen a bit with the loss.
