Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder has a pretty interesting take on the Sixth Man of the Year race between two of his players in Jordan Clarkson and Joe Ingles. With the two Jazz studs currently leading the race for the award, Snyder decided to throw in a bit of humor to address the issue.

According to Snyder, he's all for some friendly competition between Clarkson and Ingles. He did also note, however, that Utah big man Rudy Gobert might have a thing to say about the matter at hand:

“I hope they both compete with each other for Defensive Player of the Year, although I don’t know if Rudy would accept that,” he said, via Eric Walden of the Salt Lake Tribune.

Clarkson has long been the favorite to bag the Sixth Man of the Year title. He's arguably been the best player coming off the bench in the entire NBA this season, with the 28-year-old averaging 17.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, while also connecting on 3.0 triples in 25.9 minutes per game. We're not sure about his chances for the Defensive Player of the Year title, though.

Ingles, on the other hand, has been creeping up on his teammate. The 6-foot-8 forward has been on a tear of late, putting up 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 4.4 triples over his last five games. He's started three out of the last five games for Utah though, and Ingles has had 16 total starts this season (Clarkson has just 1 start). It remains to be seen if this will be a factor once the Sixth Man of the Year title is determined towards the end of the season.

For his part, Rudy Gobert is also in the running for an individual award. He's been mentioned as one of the frontrunners for the Defensive Player of the Year title, which would potentially be the third time he's bagged the trophy in his career.

Needless to say, there have been some outstanding individual performances for the Jazz this season and these have played a significant role in their current standing.
