The Utah Jazz hoped they were getting a key ingredient to the championship puzzle when they acquired former Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley in the offseason.

Conley was coming off the best year of his career in 2018-19, one in which he averaged 21.1 points, 6.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds. With Conley joining Donovan Mitchell in the backcourt, the Jazz looked to have one of the toughest guard duos in the NBA.

But this year has not gone as anticipated for Conley. The veteran is averaging just 13.8 points and 4.3 assists, and he has also dealt with injuries and having to play with the second unit.

However, the veteran guard is feeling more settled ahead of the NBA restart in Orlando (via Tony Jones of The Athletic):

“It feels like I’ve played a full season already,” Conley said. “I’ve had a chance to build chemistry with my coaches and with my teammates. I haven’t had any questions about plays or my role. I have a clear picture on what to expect.”

While Conley is ready to get back to work, however, there is a real possibility he will leave the NBA bubble due to family matters.

Conley's wife, Mary, is pregnant with their third child, and due to give birth on Aug. 27. Seeing as the playoffs are scheduled to begin on Aug. 17, there is a chance the Jazz will head into their first-round matchup without Conley in the rotation.

Nevertheless, the former Ohio State star is finally comfortable with his new surroundings. The Jazz are hoping it results in Conley helping to lead a deep playoff run.
