Utah Jazz veteran point guard Mike Conley had an interesting night that was cut short on Monday, as he was forced to exit and unable to return due to a hamstring issue.

Following the 103-94 defeat against the Philadelphia 76ers, Conley spoke to the media and provided an encouraging update on what was originally thought to be a serious injury.

This is definitely some good news coming from Conley himself, who as it turns out, could have actually returned if extremely necessary. However, the Jazz medical team erred on the side of caution — and rightfully so — in order to avoid any long-term injury for the 6-foot-1 guard.

Fortunately, this does not sound like a serious problem for Conley. Nonetheless, this does not mean that he and the Jazz are already out of the woods. The former fourth overall pick is no longer a spring chicken, and at his ripe age, this seemingly simple concern might end up costing him a couple of games on the shelf.

Conley finished the evening with just seven points on 3-of-9 shooting, along with one 3-pointer, two rebounds, six assists, a steal, a block, and four turnovers in 23 minutes of action. His next chance to suit up for Utah would be on Wednesday, as they take on the surging Los Angeles Lakers. That should definitely be an exciting marquee matchup between two Western Conference contenders, but all things considered, it would not be surprising if the Jazz decide to have Conley sit out that one for precautionary reasons.
