New Utah Jazz recruit Mike Conley has not exactly had the best of starts to his career with his new team. The 32-year-old is currently averaging just 13.9 points on a career-low 36.9 percent shooting clip, along with 3.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.7 steals, and 2.1 turnovers per game. To say that his numbers have taken a dip from his monster year last season would be an understatement.

Conley's struggles have had an adverse effect on the Jazz, who are currently 12-9 to start the new campaign. For his part, Conley admitted that he's frustrated with how things have started:

“It’s very frustrating, for me especially. I see what kind of talent we have in this room. And you want it to work from Day One. You want to come in and set a great impression. So many things you want to do coming to a new situation,” Conley said, via Michael Lee of The Athletic.

However, Conley is a veteran of the game, and he completely understands that growing pains are to be expected. He also believes they will be able to figure things out sooner rather than later:

“But you’ve also got to understand, it does take time,” Conley explained. “We didn’t expect things to work out the way they have so far. Obviously, we were thinking it would just click right away. But with the adversity that we’ve had, it’s going to happen at some time. And for us to have it early in the season, I think it’s the best. We can kind of be humble, understand we have a lot of work to do.”

Mike Conley and company are looking to snap their current two-game losing streak as they face off against the mighty Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night.
