If there's one thing Mike Conley is happy about his trade to the Utah Jazz, it's the fact that he no longer has to go up against Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.

The Memphis Grizzlies recently agreed to trade the veteran point guard to the Jazz in exchange for Kyle Korver, Jae Crowder, Grayson Allen, the 23rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and a protected first-round pick in 2020.

When asked about the trade after 12 seasons with the Grizzlies, Conley admitted that the first thing that came to his mind was the fact that he's now teammates with Gobert and Mitchell.

“It was one of the first things I thought about: I’m so glad I don’t have to play Rudy or Donovan ever again,” Conley recently told Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune.

Although Conley remained in Memphis for so long, the Grizzlies staple is definitely looking on the bright side this summer. After all, he'll be playing alongside a two-time defensive player of the year in Gobert and a future All-Star in Mitchell.

Conley will need time to develop chemistry with his new teammates, but there's no doubt his arrival makes the team legitimate contenders in the ultra-tough Western Conference.
