Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley will make his much-anticipated return to Memphis to face the Grizzlies on November 15th, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

The Grizzlies sent their longtime point guard to Utah before the 2019 draft, where they selected Murray State phenom guard Ja Morant with the second overall pick. The perpetually underrated Conley had spent the entirety of his 12-year NBA tenure with Memphis before being traded to the Utah Jazz.. The Grizzlies selected the now-31-year-old guard with the fourth pick in the first round of the 2004 draft out of Ohio State University.

Completed in July but agreed in principle in June, Memphis traded Conley to the Jazz for Grayson Allen, a 2019 first-round pick, Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, and a protected 2020 first-rounder.

The Conley trade marked the final nail in the coffin and end of an era for the “Grit ‘n' Grind” Grizzlies, one of the most beloved cores in recent memory composed of Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, Tony Allen, and Conley. Randolph, the power forward, signed as a free agent with the Sacramento Kings in the summer of 2017. Allen, the six-time All-Defensive team member and top perimeter defender and former NBA champion with the Boston Celtics, signed before the 2017-18 season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Gasol, the former Defensive Player of the Year, was traded to the eventual-champs Toronto Raptors at the NBA's trade deadline in February earlier this year.

Conley averaged 14.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game in 12 seasons with the Grizzlies. He joins rising star Donovan Mitchell in Utah's backcourt as the Jazz look to make a leap in the loaded Western Conference.
