Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley will be wearing No. 10 with the Jazz after wearing No. 11 with the Memphis Grizzlies for 12 years.

Conley didn't ask Jazz guard Dante Exum for No. 11 in Utah because he doesn't want to wear that number ever again unless he plays for the Grizzlies once more.

“If I ever play (for) Memphis again, that’s the number I’ll wear,” Conley said, via the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “I’m not wearing it anywhere else.”

The Grizzlies selected Mike Conley with the fourth overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Ohio State University. The veteran guard is Memphis’ all-time leader in games played, assists, steals and points.

Conley finished his Grizzlies career with averages of 14.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 81.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Jazz are getting one of the best point guards in the game and looking forward to seeing how Conley meshes with shooting guard Donovan Mitchell. Both players are dynamic scorers who put constant pressure on defenses and have already trained together.

Grizzlies owner Robert Pera said in a press release the franchise will retire Conley’s No. 11 jersey one day. Memphis fans will surely give the lefty a standing ovation when the Jazz come to town in 2019-20.
