After leaving the NBA bubble, Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley finally provided an update on his newborn son.

Conley left the Jazz in Disney World and flew to Columbus, Ohio on Sunday to be with his wife for the birth of their child. Hours later, the veteran playmaker posted an Instagram update to show the world their baby boy and reveal his name.

The Conleys should have pushed through with the name “Lightning Thunder Michael Alex Conley.” Imagine if the young kid follows in his dad's footsteps and chooses to be an athlete!

However, there is a good reason why Mike Conley picked Elijah, which is a biblical name. The Jazz guard is known to have a strong faith, and he has spoken about it numerous times in the past.

It is certainly a great day for Conley, and having a new kid should serve as a motivation for him to play even better when he returns to the bubble and re-joins the Jazz. Remember Fred VanVleet when he exploded for the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks?

The Jazz are certainly hoping that would be the case, especially since Conley is expected to miss at least their first two games against the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA playoffs which start on Monday.

For now though, Conley can enjoy his time with his son and his family before thinking about the Jazz and basketball.
