Veteran point guard Ricky Rubio is no longer a member of the Utah Jazz. Instead, the former Jazz signal caller is currently gearing up to participate in his first season as a member of the up-and-coming Phoenix Suns.

As a result, Rubio recently commented on his departure from Utah while speaking at his introductory press conference with the Suns.

“This is a business and you understand that things [don’t] work the way that we want in the beginning, I guess,” Rubio said during the recent press conference, via Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune. “There’s things that change. What they’re building over there is something that I’m proud of being a part of.”

Of course, the veteran point guard, who used to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves as well, also made a point to comment on his arrival in Phoenix.

“They’re building something special,” Rubio said during the recent press conference, via Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune. “A lot of young guys, and I can bring to the table my experience. I’m already 28 [years old], been eight years in the league. I can bring that to the young guys, really help them reach the level that they deserve.”

Although Rubio gives the Suns a veteran presence calling the shots on the court, Phoenix is still not expected to serve as a key contender in the Western Conference come 2019-20. On the other hand, the Jazz have gotten significantly better and will more than likely compete alongside the top teams in the league come next season.
