The Utah Jazz announced on Tuesday that starting point guard Ricky Rubio will be re-evaluated by team doctors in one week.

Rubio is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury he suffered on January 7 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

In 40 games this season for the Jazz, Rubio is averaging 12.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. The 28-year-old is shooting 40.0 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from beyond the arc and 84.7 percent from the free-throw line.

The Jazz entered Tuesday with a record of 24-21, good for eighth place in the Western Conference standings. After reaching the Western Conference semifinals last season, Utah got off to a slow start in 2018-19 but they have picked things up and are starting to look formidable once again.

Second-year shooting guard Donovan Mitchell has been the primary ball-handler for the Jazz while Rubio has been out. Mitchell has been averaging 6.0 assists in the four games since Rubio went down, while scoring 32.0 points. Utah is 4-0 in that stretch.

Rubio is ranked 17th in the league in assists per game, this season, continuing to prove that he's one of the best floor generals in the league. Further, has improved his jump shot since being acquired by the Jazz in the summer of 2017 (via trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves).
