The Utah Jazz could be welcoming back a familiar face sooner rather than later. According to a Sunday afternoon report from Tony Jones of The Athletic, Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio officially returned to practice this weekend.

While Rubio indeed made his way back to practice on Sunday, while enduring a full practice at that, it remains to be seen as to whether or not the veteran signal caller will make an immediate return to Utah's lineup for game action. According to the aforementioned Jones, the Western Conference franchise will have an update for Monday's outing against the highly talented Portland Trail Blazers a little later on Sunday.

While receiving an update regarding Rubio's return, Jones also made a point to mention that Jazz swingman Jae Crowder added his two cents in terms of the ongoing situation surrounding the team's starting point guard:

“Jae Crowder said it was good to have Ricky Rubio back at practice and running [at] full speed,” relays Jones. “He said Rubio looked good.”

The 28-year-old Rubio has been battling a nagging hamstring injury and has not suited up for the Jazz since back on Jan. 7 against the surging Milwaukee Bucks.

Missing six games during his most recent stint on the sideline, the former Minnesota Timberwolves floor general is currently averaging 12.8 points, 6.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game in 2018-19. In the midst of his second season in Utah, Rubio has already appeared in 40 games as a member of the Jazz this time around, starting all 40 contests and averaging 29.2 minutes per game.
