Utah Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer, and the veteran guard says “there are a thousand possibilities” that could happen this offseason.

Rubio says he has to wait to see what other players do in free agency first before he can make a decision. The Spaniard mentions that if Kyrie Irving leaves the Boston Celtics or Kemba Walker leaves the Charlotte Hornets, those are two teams he could have interest in:

“There are a thousand possibilities, excluding the teams that have a starting point guard under contract who will remain there,” Rubio said, via Eurohoops. “Like Houston or Golden State. Then there’s Boston where you still don’t know if Kyrie Irving will be there. Or Charlotte with Kemba Walker. Things really don’t depend on you but on the other players.”

Rubio just finished his second season with the Jazz after spending the first six years of his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game during the regular season while shooting 40.4 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Jazz almost traded Rubio at the February trade deadline. The 28-year-old said being involved in trade rumors was hard to hear. It will be interesting to see what Rubio decides to do. Utah could revisit a Mike Conley trade with the Memphis Grizzlies since Memphis has the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and will likely take Murray State guard Ja Morant.
