rodney hood was unable to reach an agreement for a contract extension this year with the Utah Jazz, but the swingman has managed to land an extension of another sort. According to ESPN’s resident shoe aficionado Nick DePaula, the Jazz sniper has agreed to a new multi-year shoe deal to stay on with Nike.

Rodney Hood, 25, is currently in his fourth season with the Jazz, with career numbers of 12.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 27.6 minutes per game. He had a breakout season with Utah in 2015-16 as he averaged 14.5 points and made 79 starts. However, he was limited to just 12.7 points and 55 games last season due to multiple knee injuries.
After getting his shoe extension, Hood’s next goal will likely be to earn his way to a lucrative deal in restricted free agency in the summer. Although, that could be a bit difficult to accomplish if this past summer’s rough free agent market is any indication.
Regardless, the Jazz shooting guard is expected to see more playing time this season with the absence of Gordon Hayward on the team. That should give him the opportunity to showcase himself more prominently as the Jazz’s top perimeter offensive option if he is able to remain healthy.
