The Utah Jazz strut their way into the home floor of the New Orleans Pelicans Monday night and earned a commanding 133-109 victory. As the score suggests, the Jazz blasted the defense with very little resistance, as they collectively shot 58.4 percent from the floor and had five men score 18 or more points.

Although only in his second game back from a leg injury, Rodney Hood provided the biggest damage – big enough to get a shout out from NBA Stats on Twitter:

Lawrence Murray of ESPN also had a good note on how efficient Hood was:

“Backup SG Rodney Hood scored 30 points on 12-of-14 shooting from the field. Meanwhile, the entire New Orleans bench had only 29 points combined on 14-of-26 shooting from the field.”

It was the third time this season that the fourth-year guard was able to put up 30-plus points, all of which are on the road. With the other two coming against non-playoff teams — Orlando Magic and New York Knicks — last night was arguably the best among all three.

Nevertheless, such performances are always a good tool to raise one's stock, which is coming at a perfect time for the Jazz, who are actively shopping Hood to free up some cap space and acquire draft picks. It has been rumored that the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, and Detroit Pistons have all inquired for the sweet-shooting swingman.

As one of the Jazz's key guys in the second unit, Hood is averaging a career-best 16.8 points and 2.7 made threes per game this season.
