Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood had his first great game of the season Friday, as he scored 20 points in 24 minutes of action, albeit in a 100-97 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. But since the basketball Gods have been particularly brutal to players early this season, Hood wasn’t able to finish the game, as he was taken out with an ankle injury, some fearing that the two-guard may have torn his Achilles.
Hood got hurt when he was trying to guard Timberwolves reserve Jamal Crawford but stepped on the foot of Karl Anthony-Towns, who set Crawford a screen.

Jazz beat writer Andy Larsen believed at first that Hood suffered a serious foot injury, but Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune gave Jazz fans a reason to let go a big sigh of relief when he reported that Hood didn’t suffer an Achilles injury, per sources.
Oh wow, Rodney Hood being full-blown carried off the floor… foot/ankle injury of some sort.

To help cover up the hole that’ll likely be left by Hood for the meantime, the likes of Alec Burks, Donovan Mitchell, and veteran Joe Johnson could see increased minutes going forward.
That Jazz get the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow.
