The Utah Jazz probably entered their game on Monday night thinking it would be a cakewalk against the lowly Detroit Pistons. But of course, the exact opposite happened.

The Jazz blew a huge 22-point lead and the Pistons completed the impressive come-from-behind victory, 126-116 to improve to 4-2 in 2022.

The Jazz terribly missed center Rudy Gobert, who's still out due to health and safety protocols. His activity on the defensive end could've definitely stymied the Pistons, who outscored the Jazz, 94-62 in the last two and a half quarters. Gobert, however, didn't sound concerned at all after their embarrassing defeat, taking to Twitter to express his three-word assessment.

Jazz coach Quin Synder also refused to make excuses despite Gobert's absence (via ESPN).

“When you don't have the defensive player of the year on the floor, you aren't going to be as good. But we are still good enough to do a lot better than we did in the second half of the game. There's no reason for us to play as poorly as we did.”

The Jazz saw their 10-game winning streak against the Pistons come to a halt and dropped to 28-13.

Backup center Hassan Whiteside made a fantastic job filling in for Gobert with 21 points on 10-of-15 shooting, 14 rebounds, two steals, and three blocks. But Cade Cunningham and company refused to budge and hacked out the upset win.

The Jazz will next face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
