Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert is not having a good season in terms of his relationship with the referees.

Last week, Rudy Gobert was ejected three minutes into a game against the Houston Rockets after picking up his second foul and then swatting a paper cup off the scorer’s table in frustration. Gobert was also fined $15,000 earlier in the week for criticizing the officiating crew after the Jazz lost to the Miami Heat.

Now, the Jazz's defensive anchor is offering a warning to the referees, as he's tired of the way they are officiating against him:

“Tonight, someone grabbed my arm, pulled me down — that was a very dangerous play, and I got called for the foul. So if I gotta do justice myself, I’m gonna do justice myself. And it’s gonna get ugly,” Gobert said, via Eric Walden of the Salt Lake Tribune. “Hopefully I don’t have to do that. I just want to play basketball.”

Could the league fine Rudy Gobert for these comments? Let's hope not, but that is as close as a player will get to saying he's going to start fighting people on the court if they don't stop messing with him.

In 28 games this season, Gobert is averaging a double-double, as the reigning Defensive Player of the Year is putting up 14.8 points and 12.3 rebounds per game and shooting 68.5 percent from the floor. The Jazz, however, are just 13-15 on the year and don't look like the team many picked as a dark horse contender in the West.

There's still a long season ahead, so hopefully Rudy Gobert and the Jazz can turn things around and go on a winning streak here soon.
