The Utah Jazz and their spectacular PR and marketing team deserve a commendation for their recent NBA Awards campaign for Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and Jordan Clarkson.

Utah used comic books as a way to push for Mitchell as an All-NBA team member, Gobert as the Defensive Player of the Year, and Clarkson as the Sixth Man of the Year.

In a highly impressive marketing move, Utah commissioned some artists to sketch up comic book-style visual narratives depicting why the three aforementioned players deserve individual honors. It all begins with Mitchell, who has earned the moniker of “Spida” — a reference to the ever-popular Marvel superhero Spider-Man.

Donovan Mitchell has been tremendous for the Jazz in his third year in the NBA. Prior to the season's suspension, the 6-foot-1 shooting guard was averaging a career-best 24.2 points on a much-improved 45.3-percent shooting clip, along with 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.0 steal. The Louisville product is also connecting 2.5 triples per contest on 36.4 shooting.

The 23-year-old explosive guard has been the team's best player, and he has been pivotal in guiding the Jazz to the fourth-best record in the Western Conference. For his efforts, he made his first All-Star appearance this term.

Utah also believes that Rudy Gobert should win his third straight DPOY award, and they have the comics to prove it.

Gobert has likewise been crucial for the Jazz this term, putting up 15.1 points (on 69.8 percent shooting), 13.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game.

Last is Jordan Clarkson, who has found the change in environment in Utah to be completely beneficial for both his career and his new team. Has he done enough to deserve the Sixth Man of the Year title, though?

Clarkson made the move to Salt Lake City in December from the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has only played 34 games for the Jazz this term, but he has undoubtedly been providing some quality minutes off of the bench before the hiatus.
