The Utah Jazz have been one of the hottest teams in the league despite a rough start to the season, plagued by injuries and the blunt departure of star forward Gordon Hayward in the offseason.

Oddly enough, the team found itself in 10th place in the Western Conference standing and rallied to win 15 of the next 17 games to end up in… 10th place, according to Hardwood Paroxysm, who celebrated last night's win over the Orlando Magic with this sarcastic stat.

The West is as competitive as ever, and even fringe teams like the Jazz and the L.A. Clippers are still within striking distance to crack into the postseason, regardless of the hopelessness this stat provides the Utah faithful.

Third and eighth place are merely separated by a 2.5 game margin, while the Clippers (34-28) are only half a game behind the Denver Nuggets, with the Jazz not falling far behind at 34-30 (1.5 games behind the Nuggets).

Utah has bolstered its lineup with the addition of yet another gritty three-and-D player in Jae Crowder, one that could prove a catalyst during the next 18 games of the season, as several teams vie for a place in the playoffs.

Powered by the likes of Donovan Mitchell, Joe Ingles, and Rudy Gobert, the Jazz possess one of the most intriguing lineups that can shut out teams for several minutes and rain down efficiently on offense when needed.

Most importantly, the Jazz have only lost to top-notch teams during this stretch, taken down by the third-place Portland Trail Blazers and the top-seeded Houston Rockets.
