Shortly after 5 p.m. EST on Friday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Utah Jazz have signed David Stockton, son of Jazz legend and Hall of Famer John Stockton, to a 10-day deal.

David, now 26 years of age and undrafted out of Gonzaga in 2014, spent this season in the G League with the Reno Bighorns (Sacramento Kings affiliate), where he appeared in 29 games, averaging 16.3 points, 5.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.

The Jazz are likely making this addition to bolster their ranks at the point guard position, as Raul Neto is slated to miss at least two weeks with a fractured left wrist. Stockton would likely play behind Ricky Rubio and Dante Exum, who made his season debut against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, if that is indeed the case.

David's dad is the NBA's all-time assist leader with 15,806 dimes, more than 3,000 ahead of second-place Jason Kidd. Stockton averaged 10.5 assists over his 19-year career, the entirety of which he spent with Utah.

The Jazz — now the 4th-ranked team in the Northwest Division standings with a 39-30 overall record — will be back in action on Saturday night, as they're scheduled to host the Kings inside Vivint Smart Home Arena. Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. EST.
