The Utah Jazz continue to shuffle the roster ahead of the 2018-19 season. The latest casualty is David Stockton, son of legendary Jazz point Guard, John Stockton. According to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania, Utah has waived Stockton.

David Stockton only appeared in three games for the Jazz last season and his minutes were minimal. He also played in three games for the Sacramento Kings in 2014-15. He spent most of his time over the last four seasons in the G League (formerly the D-League).

The younger Stockton will look for another opportunity, but it's a shame that he didn't work out in Utah. His father is one of the greatest point guards in the history of the league and he spent the entirety of his 19-year career in Utah. The Hall of Famer made the All-Star Game 10 times and led the league in assists an astounding nine straight seasons.

Stockton still holds the all-time record for assists with an unbelievable 15,806. That's more than 3,000 more than the second player on the list — Jason Kidd.

It's unclear what the next move for David Stockton is. After four years of toiling away in the G League, he may look for other opportunities. Whether that's overseas or possibly within the realm of coaching remains to be seen.

But don't rule out a return to the G League. Stockton has been a key contributor for the Reno Bighorns (now the Stockton Kings) and he's more than capable of continuing his play there. But for now, we'll have to wait and see.
