Utah Jazz wunderkind Donovan Mitchell has amazed us the entire season. In his first year, he showcased his superb knowledge of the game as if he was a veteran. Along the way, he has given us a few highlights to cherish.

Against the powerhouse Golden State Warriors, Mitchell unleashed an arsenal of dribble moves then finishing it up with a smooth layup.

The moves that we're referring to is an ankle breaker on premiere defender Draymond Green, a crossover and a layup over the outstretched arms of JaVale McGee. Below is the full video, as posted by Twitter user @World_Wide_Wob:

From the looks of it, it seems that there was a lot of contact in the finish. Maybe a foul should've been called? Or maybe the referees showed mercy to the Warriors who were getting pummeled at that point.

The 21-year-old rookie sensation is part of the recent controversies involving the Rookie of the Year Award. It seems that more people are coming out, saying that Mitchell is a “true” rookie, and not Ben Simmons — who is highly touted to win the award.

But be that as it may, one begs to question: does the award really matter? Several players like Kobe Bryant, who did not win the rookie of the year award, went on to become one of the greatest ever. On the flip side of the coin, there are tons of players who won the award yet were not able to play at a high level consistently.

The best rookie or not, Mitchell certainly has game. To be in the discussion for the award is good enough. His concern now is how he can exceed expectations.
