In a scary incident, Utah Jazz rookie sensation Donovan Mitchell injured his knee and was then carried back to the locker room on Tuesday night during the team's playoff game against the Houston Rockets.

It appears as though the only thing that happened was a banging of the knees, but that alone can be enough to do real damage to a player.

The No. 13 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out Louisville was having himself a tremendous evening before any of this happened. Mitchell had his second 22-point quarter of the playoffs on Tuesday. Steph Curry and James Harden are the only other players with 22-point playoff quarters in the last five years.

On the season, the dynamic guard averaged 20.5 points per game on 43.7 percent shooting from the floor, coupled with 3.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. To put it bluntly, if it weren't for Ben Simmons, Mitchell would have run away with the Rookie of the Year award.

Off the court, Mitchell was last in the news for being caught talking trash about James Harden after the previous game.

He has since walked that all back:

“Obviously he’s the MVP. There’s no doubt about that,” Mitchell said via ESPN. “I’m pretty sure we’ve all said things in the heat of the moment when you get upset. It was more so just about myself. You try so hard to fight back and what we did. I’m definitely upset that it came out that way, but you can’t do anything about it. I understand that there are cameras everywhere. I’m getting used to that. But like I said, he is the MVP, rightfully so.”
