Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell has been praised as one of the best rookies of this draft class, thanks to his notable NBA-ready three-and-D skills, which have made him a starter in Quin Snyder's rotation.

Yet the most underrated part of his game is his sneaky athletic ability — one that he put on display against the L.A. Clippers on Thursday night.

The rookie out of Louisville caught a lob from swingman Joe Ingles, finishing with a thunderous spike at the rim for the easy two — even getting Clippers announcer Ralph Lawler off his chair with the call.

Mitchell did it once again, running the middle lane during a fast break opportunity and catching a return pass from Royce O'Neale to finish with a sky-walking slam in the fourth quarter.

The rookie is perhaps known best as a long-range artist with his six three-point attempts per game in the young season, as well as an excellent defender, hence his nickname The Spyda, now getting 1.4 nabs per game. But his shocking ability to explode as a two-footed dunker has amazed more than his fair share of opponents.

Mitchell led the starters with 24 points, but teammates Alec Burks stole the show coming off the bench with 28 of his own in a landslide win over the hobbled Clippers.
