Though it hasn't been confirmed just yet, it sounds like Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell might be getting his own shoe deal very soon. His teammate, Rudy Gobert, hinted at the news in an online video clip earlier this week.

Mitchell, now 21 years of age, was selected with the No. 13 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. He's quickly made a name for himself in the league. In fact, the former Louisville Cardinal led the Jazz to the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs. And let's not forget about him winning the Slam Dunk Contest during this season's All-Star festivities.

Mitchell dropped a hint of his own on Monday.

Without a doubt, Mitchell is a rising star in the NBA. In 79 appearances with the Jazz last season (71 starts), the former First Team All-ACC selection racked up averages of 20.5 points on 43.7 percent shooting from the field (34.0 percent from beyond the arc), 3.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 33.4 minutes per game.

Eric Woodyard of Deseret News confirmed that Mitchell does not have a shoe deal in place — yet. However, one source tells Woodyard that “good things are happening” for Mitchell, which could be taken as yet another hint.

Whether Mitchell will indeed receive a shoe deal remains to be seen, though it seems imminent. Be sure to keep your browsers locked on ClutchPoints for more updates on this topic as they become available.
