The Brooklyn Nets netted arguably their most valuable asset this offseason in point guard Jeremy Lin.
The three-year, $36 million contract would solidify a starter in a much-depleted roster, with hopes of developing chemistry with centerpiece Brook Lopez.
While unable to make Sports Illustrated's Top 100 NBA Players of 2017 rankings, Lin can prove a pivotal player to keep the team from being a bottom dweller.
“If my life was done by what everyone else expected of me, I would’ve been done with playing a long time ago. I don’t really care what anyone else has to say,” Lin told Brian Lewis of The New York Post.
According to Lewis, Lin's lackadaisical defense deterred the New York Knicks from making a potential reunion with the Harvard alum.
If Jeremy Lin can win the point guard battle against Greivis Vasquez, he could see upward of 30 minutes a game in a consistent basis for the Nets.
