The New York Jets are in a world of trouble right now after a loss on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns, but coach Adam Gase doesn't seem ready to panic yet.

Sam Darnold is out with Mono, second-string quarterback Trevor Siemian is getting an MRI on his ankle, but it doesn't appear like he will be ready to play again anytime soon.

In the meantime, the team has turned to third-string quarterback Luke Falk, and it appears he will be the starter going forward.

This week the team has to get ready for a road game against the New England Patriots, and Gase is trying to get back to the basics of playing football to try and improve play.

“It’s familiar territory for me,” Gase said via Pro Football Talk. “We have to get better at what we’re doing. We can play so much better than this. The details of what is going on in all three phases can get a lot better, and it’s going to have to. We have a long way to go. We have a lot of practice, a lot of games. It’s just going back to what we started doing in the spring and making sure we’re executing that way.”

It's been a hard first couple of weeks, especially with the Darnold news, but Gase is right, quarterback play hasn't been the only issue.

Against the Browns, the secondary struggled to contain Odell Beckham Jr. and going forward those things need to change.
