New York Jets coach Adam Gase made it clear that the team would not be trading Le'Veon Bell even though the rumors have been swirling that Gase didn't want the team to sign the former Pittsburgh Steelers star.

When asked about the rumors on Thursday morning Gase said that they were ridiculous and there wasn't a chance they would be trading him.

Gase was also asked if he thought the team overpaid for Bell and although he didn't really give a raving review on it, he did say the Jets didn't overpay.

“The contract was what it was. Everybody can criticize the contract all you want, but he's here. I'm excited he's here … When you get a chance to coach a great player, I'm excited for that opportunity.”

But did the Jets overpay? “No.”

The Jets have already paid Bell his signing bonus and a bunch of guaranteed money so trading him away would cost the team a lot of money, so even if Gase wanted to trade him, it is very unlikely that a deal would get done.

Even if Gase didn't want Bell, there is no doubt that he is a good running back and putting the contract aside he makes the Jets a lot better.

No one should be happier than Sam Darnold about getting Bell because it should take some of the pressure off of him. All the hard feelings between the two should be put aside now because most important at this point is winning games.
