The New York Jets have conducted four interviews for their open general manager position, and according to Adam Gase, it could still be a while until the team makes a decision. On Tuesday, Gase was asked how the search was coming along and the Jets' first-year head coach said the hope is that a decision will be made soon, but they also aren't rushing into a decision.

The Jets have already interviewed Chicago Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly, Philadelphia Eagles vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas, Seattle Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer, and New Orleans Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot. One of those individuals is probably the favorite to land the job, but there could still be other candidates brought in.

Gase sat in on all four of the interviews, but the decision is still up to CEO Christopher Johnson.

“We went through some interviews this weekend,” Gase said at a press conference via Pro Football Talk. “Those guys did a great job. It was a great process we’ve gone through so far. We’ll just keep huddling up and figuring out where we are with that until Christopher’s ready to make a decision.”

Most believe that Joe Douglas is the favorite to land the job, but there have to be some questions if he still is since a decision hasn't been made yet. This is a story that could be decided as early as today or could drag on for weeks or even months but hopefully, it can be made sooner rather than later.
