It was reported earlier this week that the New York Jets were closing in on a deal with veteran cornerback Logan Ryan. Despite the fact he remains unsigned, Ryan continued to tease the idea of him signing with New York on Thursday morning.

Over the course of the offseason, there were plenty of cornerbacks to ink deals with new teams. However, for some odd reason, Ryan has gone unsigned despite his production throughout his career.

Just last season, Ryan contributed 113 tackles, 18 pass breakups, and four interceptions with the Tennessee Titans. In addition, he also tallied 4.5 sacks and four forced fumbles as the Titans were able to advance to the AFC Championship round in the postseason.

As for the Jets, they could desperately use a talented cornerback like Ryan in their secondary. Currently, New York deploys a cornerback group that features Pierre Desir, Blessuan Austin and Brian Poole. Given that depth chart, Ryan realizes that he would be a perfect fit for New York's defense.

On the other hand, he neither confirmed nor denied the reports of him possibly signing with the Jets. Instead, Ryan exclaimed that he's ‘open for business' amid the rumors of him headed to New York.

At 29 years old, Ryan can still be a premier signing for a team in need of some aid in the secondary. There's no question that the Jets could benefit from adding Ryan in the near future. Even though it seems likely that he'll wind up in New York, the Jets may want to get a deal done before it's too late and another team swoops in to sign him.
