Through the first couple of weeks of the preseason, New York Jets quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has had a strong showing on the field looking to be completely past his previous knee injury.

This has sparked chatter about the Jets potentially being interested in moving Bridgewater in a deal to acquire additional assets to help the team. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, this is something that general manager Mike Maccagnan confirmed that possibility.

The Jets currently have three quarterbacks on the roster with Bridgewater, rookie Sam Darnold, and Josh McCown. Among the two besides Darnold, the 25-year-old looks like the more likely candidate to be moved at some point to land more help to the offense. Bridgewater is performing like a player that could vie for a starting job not with just the Jets but also another franchise given the right situation.

It is clear that Darnold is the long-term future of the franchise and has shown much promise in his performance on the field in preseason action with his poise in the pocket and accuracy throwing the ball. He has also begun to build a strong case that he could be the starter come Week 1 given his command of the offense and ability on the field that could give the team the franchise quarterback that they have been searching to have in place.

All of this puts the Jets in a unique spot with a situation that could highly benefit them in the long run with a quarterback that could quickly become trade bait. It may just be a matter of them getting the right offer from another team in need of help at the position.
