The New York Jets fell to yet another disappointing loss in Week 9 falling 13-6 to the Miami Dolphins behind another lackluster performance from rookie quarterback Sam Darnold.

Despite Darnold's struggles continuing on the field, head coach Todd Bowles has remained firm that he has no desire to bench him at any point so far this season, according to Ralph Vacchiano of Sportsnet New York.

Darnold is coming off another porous outing throwing the ball completing 21-of-39 passes for 229 yards with four interceptions to no touchdowns. It marked the fourth time this year that he has thrown multiple interceptions and the second time in the last three weeks that he has tossed at least interceptions. The turnovers have begun to pile up as the season has worn on as he's up to 14 interceptions through the first nine games played.

His struggles on the field have been due to a mixture of factors as he has made some bad decision on his throws while doesn't play with the talent could lead to him having more success in the passing game. It is something that the Jets knew going into the decision to play him out of the gate to begin the 2018 season. This is simply one of those rough stretches that typically comes when playing a rookie quarterback that is feeling their way around the league. Granted, Darnold has had issues even in his collegiate career making some questionable throws, these are magnified at the next level.

These last seven games should be an opportunity for Darnold to get more valuable experience while display some promise along the way as he works his way through the rest of the schedule. This is simply an exercise of the Jets' patience with the situation that they strongly believe will pay off with him becoming the franchise quarterback that they have been long waiting to secure.
