Isaiah Crowell signed with the New York Jets this offseason in free agency in what was a relatively under-hyped move. After a couple of quality season with the Cleveland Browns, Crowell decided that he wanted a fresh start. Not only has he been a great addition for the Jets, he also broke a franchise record in his fifth week with the team.

ESPN Stats & Info took to Twitter to share the news that Crowell had broken a Jets' franchise record by rushing for 219 yards. There is something even more impressive than that. It only took Crowell 15 carries to amass that number of rushing yards.

New York cruised to a 34-16 victory over the Denver Broncos to improve to 2-3 on the young season. It was a much-needed game for the Jets' confidence and it showed off just how good this team is capable of becoming.

Crowell started the game off strong and never slowed down. He racked up the 219 yards on 15 carries, which averages out to a mind-blowing 14.6 yards per carry. In addition to those yards on the ground, he also caught a pass for 12 yards.

Following his massive performance against the Broncos, Crowell now has rushed for 390 yards and five touchdowns on 57 carries. He has also caught six passes for 36 yards.

Sam Darnold needs as much support as he can get in his first NFL season. Crowell has answered the call and his ability to break big plays on the ground has taken pressure off of Darnold.

If there was any question about who “the man” in the backfield is for the Jets, Crowell answered it today. Moving forward, Crowell will hope to build off of this performance and continue being a huge playmaker for the Jets throughout the remainder of the season.
