New York Jets safety Jamal Adams returns to play his hometown team on Sunday and he knows facing the Dallas Cowboys is going to be a “hell of a challenge.”

Even coming off back to back losses, the Cowboys' offense is averaging 452.8 yards per game led by Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliott. They also got Michael Gallup back last game and he hauled in seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Adams knows it's going to be tough going against their skill players, but he is excited for the challenge they present.

“Looking forward to it. It’s a hell of a challenge,” Adams said via the Jets team website. “[They have] a lot of skill plays, a lot of Pro Bowlers that can play football in that organization, not just the offensive side. We’re just looking forward to the matchup and it’s going to be fun.”

Adams didn't grow up a Cowboys fan even though he grew up around Dallas, but he knows it will be extra sweet if they are able to pick up their first win of the season in Jerry's World.

“It would be big,” he said with a smirk. “I was just joking with my father, he works at a gym that I grew up in. It’s nothing but Cowboys fans. It’s one big family in there, but (he) definitely wants this win as much as I do and the rest of the guys around here to go home and have the bragging rights. He’s going to be nonstop talking if we do grab this win.”

Getting the win is going to be tough but the offense should be getting a big boost with Sam Darnold coming back. If the Jets offense can move the ball and Adams and the rest of the defense steps up who knows what will happen.
