The New York Jets made headlines with the hiring of former Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase. It appears safety Jamal Adams is already excited about the new addition.

The hiring of Gase has been met with some mixed reactions from Jets fans. However, it is clear Adams is looking to forward to working with his new coach, via Twitter:

I’m so excited about the news of Coach Gase coming to NYC! Excited to have him lead us back to where we need to be. We got a long way to go, can’t wait to get to work!

It is encouraging to see that Adams is excited about the addition of Gase. His hiring was a bit of a polarizing decision given his history as the head coach for an AFC East Division rival. However, it seems that the players have approved of the move.

Gase's career in Miami got off to a promising start when he led the Dolphins to a 10-6 record and a playoff birth in his debut season. Unfortunately, he was unable to follow up his success in the years that followed. As a result, he finished with a 23-25 overall record. A good percentage of his wins came against the Jets after winning five of their six matchups.

Gase's tenure in Miami was mostly mired by quarterback struggles. Although the Jets will need to focus on building a better overall roster, it is clear that he is looking forward to some stability under center with quarterback Sam Darnold.
