New York Jets safety Jamal Adams is one of the league's brightest and most promising players at his position. While Adams was without a doubt the team's best defensive player last season, he is welcoming the help and new teammate C.J. Mosley could relieve Adams a bit.

The Jets' defense has struggled badly over the years, but things could begin to start shaping up. Adams is excited about teaming up with Mosley and sees the culture of the Jets defense changing for the better.

“It’s exciting, it’s crazy,” Adams said. “I’m not comparing us to them, but in a way I’m saying it can be something special like that. And when I say that, I mean Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. That’s the first thing that came in my mind and I hit him up. I told him we can do something special just like those guys if we put our minds to it and just keep working, stay humble and keep our faith. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”

The Jets do have a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball. Unfortunately, it just has not quite come together for them yet.

Defensive end Leonard Williams and linebackers Darron Lee and Avery Williamson are great talents alongside Adams and Mosley, so it's a matter of time before the defense comes together. The Jets made a big impact this past offseason and it could have been what they needed to once again compete in the AFC East.
