Jamal Adams has had a rough season so far with the New York Jets. From starting the season with high expectations of competing for a playoff spot, to an incredibly disappointing start to the season, to tons of trade rumors at the NFL trade deadline, to injury issues, Adams has been unable to perform up to the level that fans have come to know and expect from him.

According to a report from ESPN's Rich Cimini, Adams has a “very high” chance of making his return from injury in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

New York has already been eliminated from postseason contention, so there is no reason to rush him back. If Adams does make his return to the field, he will be 100 percent healthy and simply looking to finish the season on a positive note.

In the 12 games Adams has played this season, he has racked up 64 total tackles to go along with 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, an interception, a defensive touchdown, and six defended passes. Those numbers show what Adams is capable of producing. New York has one of the best safeties in the game and they should be thankful to have him.

Adams may very well be playing his final games as a member of the Jets. He was nearly traded at the trade deadline and it would not be surprising to see New York open to moving him in the offseason. If that is the case, he is going to be sorely missed in the secondary.
