Safety Jamal Adams is questionable for Sunday's bout with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday due to an ankle injury, according to the team.

Adams has not played since Week 13 as a result of the injury.

In the 12 games he's played this season, Adams has logged 64 tackles, 6.5 sacks, an interception, a couple of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, six passes defended and a pair of defensive touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl selection.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Jets with the No. 6 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Adams enjoyed a terrific rookie campaign, appearing in every contest and registering 82 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and six passes defended.

In 2019, Adams was even better, racking up 115 tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and 12 passes defended all while making his first Pro Bowl appearance.

The 2019 campaign has undoubtedly been a wild one for Adams, who was the subject of trade rumors at the Oct. 29 trade deadline and took his anger out on social media.

New York's front office then smoothed things over with Adams, ensuring him that the club was not shopping him.

However, with just one year currently remaining on his deal (the Jets can still pick up his fifth-year option for 2021), some have questioned whether or not Gang Green will ultimately try to move Adams this offseason.

The Jets were expected by some to contend for a playoff spot, but they are just 5-9 on the season.
