Stopping Lamar Jackson was going to be tough for the New York Jets. Now they will officially have to play the Baltimore Ravens on “Thursday Night Football” without their star safety and No. 3 pick.

The Jets officially ruled Jamal Adams and Quinnen Williams out for Thursday's Week 15 contest against the Ravens. Both were doubtful heading into the matchup, however, as they did not practice all week with their respective injuries.

Adams suffered an ankle sprain injury in Week 13's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He has not played since. The safety dubbed himself as “day-to-day” following the injury. He did recognize that he would not play if he was not 100%, however.

In his third-year in the NFL, Adams has played the part of New York's best player, no matter the side of the ball. In his 12 games before the injury, he tallied 64 combined tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, six pass deflections, and an interception.

Williams left last Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins early with a neck injury. It was unlikely that he would play on “Thursday Night Football.”

A No. 3 overall pick out of Alabama, Williams has failed to live up to the hype of his enormous draft status. In 11 games as a rookie, the interior defensive lineman has 24 combined tackles, five quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.

Joining Adams and Williams as New York's inactives against Baltimore are wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, cornerback Arthur Maulet, running back Bilal Powell, cornerback Brian Poole, and offensive tackle Chuma Edoga.
