New York Jets safety Jamal Adams didn't think it was fair when he was fined for his Baker Mayfield, and evidently the NFL agreed.

Adams was fined $21,056 for a hit on Mayfield in Week 2 and after the fine was announced he called it a “damn joke” and made clear he was going to fight to get it removed.

He wasn't called for a late hit on the play but the NFL initially said it was unnecessary roughness and handed down the fine.

On Thursday Adams talked to media after winning the appeal and said there was never a doubt it wouldn't be reversed because it was a legal hit.

“Ha-ha! I told you if you just listened to me,” Adams said via ESPN. “I'm going to be completely honest and I'm going to tell you straight up: I knew I was going to win it because it was legal.

Adams said he is going to use the extra money that is going back into his pocket on his mother who's birthday is coming up.

“Ha-ha! Yep, I got that — what was it, like 22? — back in my pocket. Oh my god. … I'm just happy it wasn't taken out [of my paycheck] because now I can spend that lovely money on my mother for her birthday. I'm excited about that.”

Even with such a big win off the field for Jamal Adams, the team is still looking for their first win of the season, and their next chance to pick that up will be Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
