The New York Jets got a bit of a scare when wide receiver Jamison Crowder went down with an ankle injury in practice on Monday, but it looks like he is going to be just fine, as Crowder has been medically cleared and is expected to return to practice on Wednesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This is obviously terrific news for the Jets, as Crowder was a huge pickup for them in what was a very busy offseason that also included free-agent signings such as Le'Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley, not to mention a trade for offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele.

Crowder spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Washington Redskins and is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he was limited to just nine games due to ankle issues, logging 29 catches for 388 yards and a couple of scores.

It's important to note that Crowder injured his left ankle on Monday, while this past year, he was dealing with right ankle problems.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Duke, was originally selected by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round (105th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in all 16 games during his rookie season, catching 59 passes for 604 yards and a pair of scores. Then, the following year, Crowder once again appeared in all 16 contests and hauled in 67 receptions for 847 yards while reaching the end zone seven times.

The Monroe, N.C. missed his first game in 2017, but he still managed to participate in 15 games, finishing with 66 catches for 789 yards and three touchdowns.
