The New York Jets have had a very busy offseason, and one of their biggest acquisitions over the last several months was wide receiver Jamison Crowder, who is expected to fill the slot role for the Jets.

Crowder is excited to begin his tenure in New York under head coach Adam Gase, as he feels Gase's offense is built for him:

“In this offense, you look at it, slot guys have had success in this offense,” said Crowder, according to Ethan Sears of The New York Post. “That was one of the things that really caught my attention.”

The 26-year-old spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Washington Redskins, but was limited to just nine games this past season due to ankle issues.

However, when he is healthy, there is no questioning his impact, and Jets quarterback Sam Darnold is excited to have that connection with Crowder heading into 2019:

“He’s so quick. Everyone knows how quick he is, but he’s fast too,” Darnold said of Crowder on Monday. “I think he can hit another gear, too. He’s got game speed, especially when someone gets the better of him. If someone maybe predicts what route he’s going to run and they maybe beat him to the spot on one play, the next play you know he’s just going to come out firing. That’s just kind of who he is, he’s a competitor and it’s good to see that.”

Crowder's best season in Washington came during the 2016 campaign, when he played in all 16 games and hauled in 67 receptions for 847 yards and seven touchdowns.

He will join a Jets receiving corps that also includes Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa.
