New York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco passed Hall of Famer Joe Montana on the NFL's all-time passing yards list in Week 9 against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.

Joe Flacco began his career with the Baltimore Ravens. He spent 11 years with the Ravens and won one Super Bowl.

In 2019, Flacco played for the Denver Broncos. He then signed with the Jets to be Sam Darnold's back up, but he's started a few games in 2020 due to Darnold's injury woes.

As most NFL fans know, Joe Montana is one of the best quarterbacks in league history. He won four Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers and racked up 40,551 yards in 192 games with the Niners and Kansas City Chiefs.

Montana was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000. He's widely regarded as the second-greatest quarterback in NFL history behind Tom Brady.

This is a great accomplishment for Flacco in what has been a disastrous season for the Jets. The 35-year-old is at the end of his NFL career which began in 2008. To pass Montana in any statistical category is no small feat, so Flacco should be proud despite the Jets being the worst team in the league by a long shot.

All signs point toward the Jets getting the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft. They entered Week 9 as the only winless team in the NFL.
