A week after getting quarterback Sam Darnold back from mononucleosis that had kept him out since the season opener, the New York Jets will welcome back another star player for their Monday night matchup against the Patriots. CJ Mosley, who was one of the Jets' biggest offseason additions along with Le'Veon Bell, will make his return to the field Monday.

Mosley marked his Jets debut with a bang. The linebacker totaled six tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown all in the same game. New York will add Mosley to a middle of the pack rush defense that will only get better once the former Pro-Bowler returns to the field.

The team's pass defense is a different story as they currently rank 24th in the league. Luckily, Mosley is one of the league's premier pass coverage linebackers and without a doubt will help improve the team's ability to cover opposing running backs and short dump-off throws.

The Jets will have to be patient with CJ Mosley; he will need time to get back into football shape in addition to not wanting Mosley to reinjure his groin. He will have a tough matchup in his return as the Patriots head to MetLife Stadium undefeated. New England will likely test Mosley and see if he is able to cover running back James White, who is a pass-catching specialist, right away.

It is a welcome sight to see, as the Jets have been one of the league's worst squads but are now getting healthier and ready to compete.
