The New York Jets lost 31-12 to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and Jets defensive end Leonard Williams didn't appreciate their late game 2-point conversion attempt. The Jaguars clearly had the game won but tried to heap on an extra helping of scoring. Williams is the leader of the Jets' defensive line and was a Pro Bowler in 2016. He felt that it was a display of blatant disrespect for their team.

“I think it's really disrespectful … but at the same time, I think it's up to us to gain that respect from other teams and if teams are disrespecting us, it must say something about us,” Williams said to NJ.com. “That's how I took it. I took it really personal and I didn't like it at all.”

Most of the Jets avoided answering questions about it. However, outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins also had some words about the play.

“That's just what they felt that they wanted to do,” said Jenkins. “Whether it was a statement or not, we'll never know. But we won't forget.”

After winning their season opener in a stunning 48-17 victory over the Detroit Lions, the Jets have dropped three straight. They've lost to the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins and now the Jaguars. They are tied with the 1-3 Buffalo Bills at the bottom of the AFC East.

Leonard Williams and his defense will need to show improvement against the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Sam Darnold will draw confidence from having a consistent defense behind him. His future is bright, but the 2018-19 season is slipping away.
