The New York Jets are still looking for their first win of the season when they face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. But they may get some much-needed help in the form of running back Le’Veon Bell, who could return to the Jets’ Week 5 game after missing three weeks due to a hamstring injury.

According to Newsday Sports’ Al Iannazzone, Jets head coach Adam Gase expects the star running back to return against Arizona. The 28-year old Bell was among four Jets players who were designated back to the team’s lineup from the injured reserve list, alongside linebacker Blake Cashman, wide receiver Vyncint Smith, and rookie Jabari Zuniga.

Bell, a three-time Pro Bowler and a two-time First Team All Pro with the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining the Jets last season, suffered an injury in New York’s Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills. He had six carries and 14 rushing yards, and added two receptions and 32 receiving yards for the Jets, but has missed the team’s last three games, which have all been losses.

The Jets offense, particularly their ground game, has struggled in his absence, tallying just 394 rushing yards through four games for an average of 98.5 a game, which ranks 25th in the league. In his first season with the team, Bell finished with 1,291 yards on 321 carries and nine rushing touchdowns while adding 655 receiving yards on 85 receptions and two receiving touchdowns.

Gase and the Jets certainly hope to get this version of their star running back when he returns as they look for their first win against the Cardinals.
