Le'Veon Bell is certainly having a great time in his new surroundings with the New York Jets, and on Monday, he marveled at the fiery competition between the Jets offense and defense in practice:

“That's like the best thing I've ever been a part of,” said Bell, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN NFL Nation. “When you see that competition, I literally never had nothing like it. Coach (Gregg) Williams is a defensive genius vs an offensive genius (Adam Gase). They go at it every day.”

Bell signed a four-year deal with New York earlier this offseason.

The 27-year-old sat out the entire 2018 campaign due to a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the last time we saw him in action in 2017, he rushed for 1,291 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging four yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 85 receptions for 655 yards and a couple of scores, making the Pro Bowl and earning a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Bell, who played his collegiate football at Michigan State, was originally selected by the Steelers in the second round (48th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft and went on to make three Pro Bowls while notching First-Team All-Pro honors twice during his time with Pittsburgh, but his tenure with the club obviously did not end well, and his comment about the Jets' practices also seems to be a bit of a veiled shot at his former team.

Regardless, the Jets could certainly use Bell's services in an offense that labored mightily this past season, resulting in a 4-12 record.
