New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell hasn't played in the teams first two preseason games and there is a chance he might not play in the next two either. Coach Adam Gase was asked why Bell didn't play during Thursday's night game during his postgame presser and his comments make it seem like he might not suit up until the regular season.

Gase said he has liked the way he has looked during practice and he didn't feel it was worth putting him in harm's way during Thursday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

“I just liked his week of practice,” Gase said regarding the decision to keep Bell out of Thursday’s game against the Falcons, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “He got a ton of reps this week. We’ll kind of see how next week goes. He’s played a lot of football. And I like where he’s at right now. I love how he’s working. If I feel like there’s a need to play him next week, we will. If he has a good week of practice and it’s not worth it for us to get him out there, then we won’t.”

Bell said earlier this week that playing in the preseason could be helpful, but he didn't think it was necessary to be ready for the regular season.

It's good news that Bell and Gase are on the same page, because at this point it seems he won't be playing in the next two games. The Jets open the regular season on September 8th against the Buffalo Bills.
