New York Jets running back Isaiah Crowell's season is over after suffering a foot injury in last Sunday's win against the Buffalo Bills.

Crowell had some incredibly bright spots this season, but just like the entire Jets' season, those moments were few and far between. Crowell had a monster game back in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions and back in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. Crowell's Week 5 performance was very impressive as he ran for 219 yards and a touchdown in a surprising victory over a tough Broncos squad.

Even with that 200-yard performance, Crowell still only managed 685 rushing yards on the season to go with six rushing touchdowns. Considering Crowell had nearly a third of his season yards in one game, there was a lot to be desired from Crowell and the entire Jets offense for that matter.

Luckily for the Jets, backup running back Elijah McGuire has a lot of talent and is finally healthy after missing a majority of the season. McGuire will likely take over the team's lead running back role in a season that is already over for the Jets. The good thing that will come of McGuire's new role is that the talented young running back may finally get much-needed playing time.

The Jets have not invested a lot in Isaiah Crowell, but he is a talented running back with a lot of gas left in the tank. He'll have to wait and see how he recovers from this injury to see what his future holds.
